I can't say with any certainty about your generator, but in the past there were generators called 'low cut-in' generators that had higher output at low armature speed. They were identified as LCI and were used mostly on industrial equipment, taxis, and larger trucks, basically anything that spent a lot of time with low engine speed. That might be what you have. The pulley you have looks like original equipment.
