Go with a new cam and keep the hydraulics. Once you get the cam broke in and the lifters adjusted, you won't have to adjust them again. The hydraulics will run smoother and quieter. Why a new cam? Since the old lifters show damage, the cam is probably damaged or has excessive wear on those lobes. The only way to check it is to degree it and check the lift. By the time you have done that, you could have put in a new cam, which doesn't cost that much.
