Hello, I'm new to at the AD truck seen but and quickly finding out the fun they are. I have a 52 Chevy half ton with a 1961 235, 4 speed and torque tube. I ripping it apart and have a question about removing the torque tube. I have the Chevy service manual and my torque tube apears different than what the manual says, imagine that, a 52 with a 61 engine and I expect the manual to help!! I'm trying to find out what the tranny is, the number on it is 591665. I can find lots about the engine but nothing about identifing the trannie. Another question is how to take off the torque tube. I've dropped the cross member, lossened the ball collar and exposed the u-joint. Here's where I'm stuck, the manual says take off the cap cover screws, I don't see any?? The trannie side joint has a 3/4 collar around the bushing and the shaft side is 100% around the bushings? How do I get it off. Thanks in advance for the help and I look forward to getting greasy again.
