| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 18 | I'm a newbie, but am getting addicted to this site and working on my Stovebolt. I'm rebuilding a rear end from a 69 c-10 and putting new seals in the axle shafts and pinion. I replaced the pinion seal but when I walked over to the bench to get the new seal a tube inside the pinion shaft fell out. I had my back turned and didn't see which way it goes back in? The tube fits over the pinion shaft and has a bulge like it swallowed an egg about two thirds down the tube. Does the bulge go towards the pumpkin or towards the driveshaft? It fits in either way but I know the buldge probably has something to do with the oil flow in the rear end. Hope you guys can help?
Thanks for all you know, Squeegebob
