A sping will cycle through it's range of travel until it runs out of energy. The shocks role is to control this motion (damping) by providing resistance. Generally, you want no more than 2 or 3 bounces (getting less and less every time) after jouncing the spring though it's travel. For shocks, Id say some sort of gas charged shock would be best, especially since you have removed some leaves. Monroe shows part # 80312 available for the front in their Sensa-Trac line. I personally prefer Gabriels (don't have a # for ya on that), the Red Ryders are very good (that's what I have).
