Its a GMC engine, alright, and I'll go with rustednuts on the road draft tube and filler. GMC engines originally had the size stamped on the serial number pad by the distributor- 228, 248, 270, 302, etc. I think the size is the first three numbers in the serial number on that pad- if the numbers haven't been ground off.
