| | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Guys, Canadian 1420 is equal to American 3600, or what we both commonly call a 3/4 ton. to break down the Canadian serial or V.I.N. number
The first digit indicates the year
The second and third digit indicate the series
The forth and fifth digit indicate the model
The sixth digit indicates whether it had a 6 or 8 cylinder engine
The balance of the number is the vehicle number
This information holds true for most Canadian trucks, trucks before the 55B or second series of course were only powered by 6 cylinder engines so the sixth digit may not be a six and the whole serial number may be shorter by one digit, hope that helps. | | |
