Wood - I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a try...

The original angle strips on the inside of the bed are spot welded to the bedsides. There is a spot weld about every 6-inches the entire length of the bed. These welds often appear as a slight dimple from the exterior. When I replaced my bed boards and angle strips, I had to drill out the spot welds to remove the angle strips. Some folks choose to replace the angle strips and BOLT the stips to the bedsides. Others, weld the strips to the bedsides just like the originals.
