Good article- - - -but oversimplified a lot! The "fitting" procedure using Prussian blue and a scraper isn't covered at all. The babbit-pounder Chevy rods used a different babbiting procedure which resulted in a much thinner layer of bearing material than the old Ford engines and others used. Chevy rods can't be reconditioned by repouring the bearings. That's why insert bearing conversions are popular when upgrading a stovebolt engine.
