try your headlights-- do you have to have a key on for them to work? How about your horn-- key on for it to blow? Brakelights? Manufacturers put certain circuits on a "HOT buss" ( that means powered all the time) and some on an accessory buss. Those are powered only when the key is on. Otherwise, why would you need the 8 or 10 guage wire from the battery or starter terminal direct to the fuse panel with a fusible link in it?
