They use sodium filled exhaust valves with rotators. The early ones didn,t have the outlet in the head for the heat gauge/light sender. I worked on them for 40 years & i don,t know of anything different that you couldnot exchange them. If you are going to use it for light duty the 250 valves are plenty good. Most reman. engines will have the light duty valves. Only torque the driver side front head bolt to 85 ft. lbs. 95 on the rest. They had some cracking problems in that area & came out with a revised specs. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though.
