Anyone have a expanded diagram of the 1941 3/4 ton Park Brake mechanism – or information on how this should operate?

I think there must be a part missing from mine, the part that enables the ratchet/lock, but can’t find out what. I bought the 1941 Chevy workshop manual but this only gives the passenger car version.
