Thanks for the link and tips guys. I know for sure it's a big block, but wasn't sure how to distinguish a tall deck from a car motor. None the less, I'll get the block info in the next few days and reference it to the mortec link. I don't guess I really need to know which engine it is "yet", as the ignition tune up parts readily interchange with most gm V8s and carb kits are available specific to the carb but it would be reassuring to know what's under the hood of what I'm driving around out here. I've got the carb sitting in the vat as we speak and recieved the kit for it today, so that part is pretty well down hill from here. As for the winch, it is definately pto driven, forward and reverse, has a lever for free spool, and a lever for the drum brake. The cable is probably in the 3/4" range and there may be approx 100' on it, with room for more. I'm thinking the bed, winch and poles setup may very well be worth the junk I traded for this, but it moves under it's own power so that's a plus to. I'll keep you all informed on anything major in the upcoming future and in the mean time try to get some pics posted on here.......Anyone have a clue on the single speed rear end ratio available for this truck??? I guess being a 40 series, it's considered a 1 1/4 ton truck?? Thanks again
