One word on multi-carb set-up's: theu are much more difficult to tune than a 4bbl. And there is a wolrd of difference between the manifolds for 4 bbl. I've used the Okky and the Clifford. The offy is prone to unequal fuel flow in the head, some cilinders get rich, others lean. The Clifford is much better.
Here we had lots of manifolds for the 250 with 3 single carbs, they looked great, but worked poor. We used a lot the Solex H40/44 EIS carb , the one used in the kadron kit for VW flat 4 engines. About the same size as a Holley 1 bbl or any carter single barrel. And the solex has the diaphragm fuel pump, that never let You down, but milleage was always poor. The HEI is a very good choice, and also is inexpensive.
