I have a 57 3200 LB with a V8. The truck is new to me and I have discovered a huge oil leak from the transmission. (I looked for a bullet hole it was dripping so fast)
I will repair but before I do, I am wondering about using a tranny from a newer truck - say a '64. I have heard that the 3 spd tranny is a weak point on these trucks and I thought maybe getting a newer transmission might mitigate the problem.
Anybody else had experience with leaks like this?
Comments on the newer transmission?
