Hi all, Has anyone pulled the brk.backing plate off a 2ton rear end? My problem is not unbolting it, but how to get the oil slinger ring thats pressed on the axle off. Yes, I know a hammer would work but then I thought that after I had removed it putting it back on would be the problem, or should I say would it stay on beings that the factory pressed it on. I didn't see any mention of it in the shop manual. Has anyone seen mention of this in the overhaul manual,because that manual I do not have.
