The 54 uses floating bushings. The grease should go through. You must have the truck jacked up so the weight is off the wheels. As you have pressure on the grease gun move the wheel back & forth a little. You can drill into the bushing like Stuart pointed out, but you will not drill into the pin. It is supper hard. Zerks have been around for 70 years.
