L-Kings - A straightedge need not be a hi-dollar tool. Go visit your local sheet metal shop. Look under their shear & pick up a couple scraps maybe 2 or 3 ft. long. Hold the cut edges together & see that there is no gaps. If not, then you have two straight edges in your hands. The heavier gage, the better. You can trim to the length you need.
