My book has some blanks in it for 91 T5's. However from 89 on, the T5 torque capacities show 175-231 ft-lbs for the 2.2L 4 cyl as well as the 2.8L V6. The V8 T5's are showing a 300 ft-lb torque rating.

Based on those figures, and admitting I'm no expert on the T5, I'd be hesitant to try the lower rated box behind a V8. You want to be looking for a MK6 or M39 designated box with corresponding OD ratios of .73 and .63 repectively. Both these boxes have a 2.95 1st, 1.94 2nd,1.34 3rd and a 1:1 4th gear. In addition you may have to use an S10 tail housing and modify the speedo drive gear location if your cab layout is the same as the AD series.

Hopefully, someone who is running the setup will offer some information.
