First, no such thing as a VIN in 1949. You had engine numbers and manufacturer's ID numbers (on the door plate) and different states used one or the other when titling the trucks.
As to your actual question, the manufacturer's ID number only appeared on the door plate. For the entire AD series (47.2 - 55.1) there was no ID number on the frame.
