That site is a great reference, thanks so much. I see on some of the trucks there the emblems show red in the top half, blue on bottom, now I just need to figure out if the circle and V are white or silver, or maybe both existed?
A little more info on my truck...it was a rural fire tanker with typical low miles, that had sat in a backyard for years. When I found it, it was just a cab and chassis. Got a fresh battery in it and it fired right up and purred like a kitten. I then found a plumbing company utility body from an '80s GMC that measured out to be an exact fit to this truck. Took a 15 hour round trip to tow the body back strapped to a carhauling trailer behind my pickup, then after a year and a half of waiting finally got the project going. The cab is progressing well through the restoration, and the "new" body is mounted. Now the body will be modified somewhat into a rescue/utility type body, with parts I've saved from other fire truck projects, and the results will certainly be a unique creation.
