They are sold to everyone by Patrick's in Casa Grande, AZ. They run $400 everywhere, and are worth every dime. They do not fit anything else. As far as I know, Patrick has large batches of them run at a gear manufacturing shop. I suspect Richmond Gear, but I'm not sure. Passenger cars had a 3.55 gear set in '50-'54 for powerglide equipped cars, but the ring and pinion are much smaller than the P.U. set and do not interchange. Patrick has designed the '40-'54 P.U. 3.55 gear set as deep as it can be made. A numerically lower ratio is impossible due to the thickness (gets too thin where the teeth are cut through) of the ring gear.
