You can’t do that with the drag link. One would have to lengthen the pitman arm to change the steering ratio, but that would also make it more difficult to turn the steering wheel. Only reasons I can think of are possibly the steering box has been relocated farther back on the frame, or the steering arm on the back of the left front hub has been changed to a shorter one, or possibly the entire front axel has been moved forward.
everything other than the lengthened arm is stock. It is a bearcat to turn standing still and at a yard roll. Had a 40 years ago you could turn easy in all conditions!
Makes you wonder what the oldtimer was thinking when he did the repair? I checked it out good last night and it apears they used a 2+1/4 inch bolt to fix the repair and give it the added length, and another drag link to give it side support.
Looking at it, it's a nicely done repair. But not on the steering! High speed 45mph crashes back then must have been less dramatic than todays 65mph's are??
