A larger master cylinder wouldn't help. The whole stopping thing is decided where the lining meets the drum. More pressure would only smoke the brakes faster.
If you drive the truck with any amount of common sense, the stock brakes are fine. If you drive 90 miles an hours down mountain roads with a full load of pea gravel, you might get into trouble.
