Well it seems that we have come to a conclusion, and it seems that the 283 is the way to go. That is now my definite decision since I ran the stats for both engines on my desktop dyno. The 283 was beating the 350 in both torque and horsepower, untill 5000 rpm. That's good enough performance for me plus the 283 is way cooler.
