Thanks for the suggestions guys. Ultimately we took the generator out and put in an alternator, so I din't get to drive it last night. I'll be driving it this afternoon if all goes well.

Funny things, these old trucks. Fuel pump worked when I drove it into the garage. Now all of a sudden it doesn't. So we replaced that.

Then the thermostat which worked upon initial start up yesterday, quit working suddenly in the afternoon. So we replaced that.

Then the generator. I bought this truck last spring with an alternator but I wanted a generator because I think they look better. So I took the generator and voltage regulator out of my old '54 which was working fine at the time, and now all of a sudden we can't get continuity through it -- or something like that anyway. So we put the alternator back, and I will send the generator out to have it rebuilt.

Seems like parts wear out by just sitting around.
