Thanks to everyone for the advice concerning my flywheel. I dropped it off at the machine shop Monday morning and by lunch time it was ready. All of the "heat checks" came out of it and it is ready to go back in.
Fortunately, I tried and got over the high-rev, side stepping clutch routine back when I was about 19. At that time my Caballero had a 350 with a Muncie M21 4spd. I brought the engine up to around 3000 rpm and side stepped the clutch. I was only about a mile from home. This was a good thing, as it was a short walk home. $3oo later I had a fresh rebuilt transmission back in. Quick lesson learned, as that was the first and only time I tried that little stunt!
Thanks again everyone!
