Don't forget the health hazard you'll face when it's time to remove the glass & do the job properly. Unless the bond is totally gone & the glass peals off clean you'll have to cut and/or grind it off which will put LOTS of glass fibers into the air you're breating. If you decide to go that way be sure to wear a good dust mask when you abrade the glass.
