Wrenchbender is correct on the drive. It has small springs and rollers in it and if they become damaged it will let the drive slip. Your original drive was a 3 roller drive. I use the heavier version with 5 rollers in it. Your going to have to take the starter apart to replace the drive, now might be a good time to replace bushings, brushes etc., preventive maintenance if you will. If your interested in a very complete rebuild kit and a heavier drive shoot me an email.
My kits contain lots of parts, not just your typical 3 or 4 parts like in most kits.
