When I got my '50 (not the same, I know, but similar) the owner before me had taken a leaf out of the front springs. I liked the stance. Not too low so that it isn't practical to drive but a little lower in the front. After 40 or 40K the springs finally broke. I replaced them with a mono leaf spring and it maintained the ride height and improved the ride quality. We drive this truck. I probably have another 30K on these springs and I have been completely happy with them.
