Mine took five years and I never had a schedule! There were many smaller projects along the way like the heater, carb., etc. I also had a great time shopping the swap meets and Ebay. I probably couldn't have afforded to do it without Ebay.
My truck is more or less original in the mechanical sense and I find that 50 mph is just fine to cruise at. I must add that I did change the rearend gearing from 5.14 to 4.10 .
It is a really good feeling to know that you have dealt with the complete vehicle yourself in detail.
