Freedo has it exactly right. The 230, 250, and all the V-8's that year had mount brackets on the frame directly across from each other. If your brackets aren't straight across,(292) move the passenger side mount into the same position as the driver's side, and purchase a set of V-8 motor mounts for a 65 truck. They should bolt right up to the frame brackets. If you're installing a TH 350, or some other late-model transmission, several aftermarket crossmember and rear mount systems are available. I use a bare block and an empty trans case to check motor mount position when I'm fabricating mounts. It's simpler than fighting with a complete engine/trans assembly. Once the dummy unit fits correctly, the complete assembly will be a drop-in fit. Be sure to check for oil pan and steering linkage clearance while you're fabricating mounts. One installation I did on a race car ended up with the harmonic balancer dragging on the tie rods! We had to build up the front mounts 1/2" for clearance on that one!
