It could be 180 degrees out.You have to make sure # 1 cyl is on the top of the fire stroke.Pull # 1 plug out and crank/bump the starter until you hear/feel compression.Align the crank on TDC.Drop the dissy in aligning the rotor to #1 wire in the cap.Another way is to leave the dist in and change your wires in the cap starting with # 6 position. #6 becomes #1,then 8,4,3,6,5,7,2
