There have been a couple of threads here about the possibility of using a 3-speed trans, mounted backwards, to fabricate a direct/over box. While it would involve a fair amount of machining, and probably the fabrication of a crossmember or two to mount it, I'm thinking about adding that idea to the "to do" list at sometime in the future. Yes, driving the 2nd. gear and cluster gear backward to their normal rotation might create noise and/or wear issues, but it just might work. Anybody want to comment on the feasibility of something like that?
