Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 108 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 108 | Okay, I need some EXPERT advise regarding the installation of the rocker shaft/s on my 216 engine. I checked the shop manual and it does not explain in detail the position of the rocker shafts when installing to the cylinder head. The rocker shaft sections are hollow to allow oil flow through the shaft and out each individual rocker arm oiler holes. This rocker shaft sections can be installed with the oiler holes on top or 180 degrees out with oiler holes towards the bottom. Can anyone definitively tell me which position these shafts are mounted? Oil passage Holes up or holes down? Presently they are pointed down, and I notice only small ammounts of oil oozing out of each rocker arm oil port (on top) of each rocker arm. It does not seem adequate to spray onto the upper push rod pivot points or the valve springs and valve guides after in lubricates the rocker arm to shaft bushing. Have I got these rocker shaft sections installed upside down? Thanks For EXPERT responses
Best Regards Will
