I'm replacing the spring shackles and bushings on my 52 GMC 1/2-ton. I have a set of bushings that someone gave me, there are 4 steel ones that are threaded for the shackle pins, then there are 2 brass ones that are not threaded but have grooves on the inside, for grease I guess. When I took my springs off, the eye bolt hole has the same steel bushings as on the shackle end. I'm thinking I should use the brass bushings on the eye bolt hole. Anyone know if that's right? And also, is the spring symmetrical (looks to be), do I need to keep track of which end is the front or does it matter?

Thanks,
Mike
