| | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | I jumped through basically the same set of hoops trying to get the proper pulley setup for my 1956-235 in a 54 truck. After too much time spent on getting everything working I discovered that the pulley diameter was having an adverse effect on my pump speed and I still had a fan that was set too low in the radiator for proper cooling.
By using the adaptor plate behind an early 216-235 waterpump and fabricating a pass. side alternator mount, I run only one v-belt over the pump and drive my a/c compressor off the front v-groove in one of Buffalo's 2 groove modified 250 harmonic balancers. The up side of this is that it puts less strain on the pump and allows me to buy a replacement pump, if needed, from a local parts supplier. I have pics in my webshots album.
