A Detroit Diesel is the most efficient device for turning #2 Diesel fuel into noise.

Also the only engines mentioned in the bible:

The Detroit that makes the most noise is a 6V53, no turbo, straight two lobed blower rotors, and 2,800 rpm goverened....
