It appears that they made these out of a couple pieces with the intent of reinforcing the arm that is bolted to the door frame. If it's standard 18 Gauge metal that chevy used, I could form the two peices by hand and then weld them together to form the tapered box that they originaly made. Between the plasma cutter, the MIG welder and a 17 year old son who wants to learn how to work metal, I'm pretty sure we could come close to original. Does Chevy have a source for parts dimensions?
As far as repo parts, I haven't been able to come even close to finding these. Thanks for your help.
