Chip The problem with the 235 its allways goes on the back burner.Most people think if its a 235 its a parade truck,one that dont get used so....it goes to the back of the line.And no matter what people here say about shimming mains thats the way its done. So...its labor intensive. I dont let things sit,i always call 1 to 2 times a week or just plain show up for a progress report.I also tell them that the truck has got to be finished by a certain date before i get involved with a machine shop(May even lie and tell them its got to be at the body shop or??). When i show up i also ask if they need any money yet (i never really give them any till i see movement but it dont hurt to do it on friday afternoon when he makin out the payroll checks.) All and all you should toss the block with the cracked cap anyway.Lineboring a 235 just gets into a whole bunch of other problems.Boy oh boy when you do find a good machine shop dont lose em or b#tch about price. hacker Huh??? ;D My 235 was done in 3 weeks,in and out of the truck
Go find yourself a good runnin 235 this weekend and a new machine shop.let him have the 235 block for a paper weight.
Hey in the time you have waited you could have come out here to CT and got a good runnin 60,ooo 235 that here on the floor and gone home and installed it.
