The Hydrovac booster on my '66 C60 has finally gone bad. I sucked all the brake fluid out of the master cylinder into the engine via the vacumn line. Luckily I was at home in the driveway when the brakes went out. I either need to rebuild it or replace it.

Would you other big truck guys (Ken, 2ton, G.L.) recommend rebuilding the old, exchange the old for a rebuilt unit of the same vintage or update it to a more modern one from a newer Chevy truck. I'm leaning towards the last option since parts are getting harder and harder to find for the older truck components. Originality is not as big of a concern as safety. A body needs to stop when the pedal goes down.

Opinions?

Thanks.
