I bought shocks for my 54 from NAPA, and recently bought them for my 57. The fronts for the 57 were in stock, and the rears took a couple days. I can't comment on the attributes of different brands, but I know back in the roaring sixties, we were lucky to get two years out of a pair of shocks. I haven't had to replace a set of shocks due to wear for over 20 years now, so I'm optimistic about my NAPA shocks.
