I bought a pump from Carter's for my '54 engine. I'm not thrilled with the cast pulley, mine broke at very low mileage. It had low mileage but was almost two years old because of the time it took to do my restoration. Carter's people responded that how do they know it had low mileage and I must have overtightened the belt. This is not the first vehicle I have owned or put a belt on, never saw this happen before. I found that local parts place carry's the same pump and also has a warranty, but rebuilding sounds like a better choice with the steel pulley.
