| | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | If the tranny is mounted in the stock position and the shifter handle hasn't been re-bent, the shifter can't travel that far because it is limited by the length of travel of the first-second sliding gear. Once it slides into first position it physically cannot go any further. Therefore I'd suspect that at some time (mybe when the clutch was worn out) someone tried to force it into first and bent the shifter handle forward so it now hits the dash.
Just a guess but I'd check it out. | | |
