The 53-55 235 pans are totally different from 55-62 235 pans and wont fit the later 235 engines. There is also a differance in the internal baffles between 55-58 and 59-62 235 oil pans. Some massaging of the oil pan floor was needed to make a 57 pan work with my 58-62 oil pickup. 261 engines may have similar pan differances.
