I am replacing the water pump on my '56 235. My shop manual says to remove block attachment bolts and remove pump/pulley/fan as one unit. One of the bolts is behind the pulley and I can barely get a wrench on it. Would it be ok to try and remove the pulley and fan first so I can get to the bolts easier?
