Hi Len,
I pulled a 400 small block out of my 65 short fleet and built it all the way, and was going to put it in a 66 long fleet to run for a couple of thousand miles untill I get the 305 built to go in the long bed and get the body for the 65 ready for the 400. Just checking a few things I noticed that the 400 didn't have the hole to screw in the ball for the torsion arm. I could have went to a hydraulic clutch set-up, but de-cided to go ahead and build the 305 instead. The 400 small block that came out of the 65 has a th400 tranny so there wasn't a clutch set up so that is one snag to using a 400 with a straight shift, although there may have been some used with a stick. I haven't seen one.
