Chevyman, I think the idea is trying to avoid the higher RPM levels needed to boost power using non supercharged tuning.As you know ,the stresses on the engine increase as the square of the rpm. 300 hp at 4500 rpm with a supercharger is less stressful on the crank and rods than the same HP devoloped at 6200 rpm naturally aspirated.That long crank shaft get some serious harmonics at higher rpm levels.
