Assuming the tranny X-member is in the same spot for the 6s and v8s, you wouldnt have to change the bellhousing, tranny or driveshaft. You would have to find the V8 mounts for your truck, but the holes for the V8 motor towers should already be in the frame. You may have to check clearance on accy brackets, steering box, linkage and stuff. But if your truck had a V8 option, the swap is straightforward.
