Thanks for the tip on Lester's, increased compression, mild cam, intake and exhaust up grades are what I was thinking fot the engine.
Still trying to figure out the transmission, drive line and rear suspension. I was given a '80 Camaro rear that is the right width, it needs some internal work (bearings, etc). I figure to get the truck running and clean will cost about $7K to $10K. Cooler looking truck and I can do the work myself.
